Xencrete wasn't developed by academics.

The inventors don’t wear labcoats, and they don’t work for a big corporation. They set out with a simple goal — to create a low-carbon concrete that behaves like… well… concrete.

To do that they were laser-focused on how the product performed on site — at the workface.

From exhaustive experience they know one poor result can derail the best-laid plans.

After many years of trial and error, that is what they have achieved.

Concrete is now being produced in commercial volumes using Xencrete. It pumps, screeds, finishes and cures just as you would expect concrete to.

Designed to fit existing infrastructure

A powder admixture. Minimal disruption. No new equipment.

Xencrete is an AS1478.1-2000 Compiant powder admixture. A typical dose for a 25MPa mix is 12–14 kg per cubic metre.

The product has been designed to seamlessly integrate into existing production systems with minimal capital expenditure and operational disruption.

Working, in the field, now

In daily commercial production since May 2025.

Concrete containing Xencrete Admixture is being poured in Melbourne every working day. Between 160 and 180 truckloads are delivered throughout the city on a typical day.

Bulk Blending & Distribution

Hunter Valley to eastern seaboard. Already running.

Xencrete is being bulk blended in the Hunter Valley, providing servicing capability across Australia’s eastern seaboard.

Further Third-Party Validation

Newcastle City Council & MECLA trial

In November 2025, Newcastle City Council and MECLA undertook a trial concrete pour using concrete supplied by Entire Concrete containing Xencrete Admixture.

The trial demonstrated that low-carbon concrete can be delivered successfully with no cost premium, no site disruption, or compromise in performance.

Workers involved in the trial considered the Xencrete-based mix comparable to — and in some respects better than — the conventional everyday grey mix against which it was benchmarked.

The trial report captures this succinctly in one of its strongest observations: that the pour “became a non-event.”

To date, the focus has been on developing viable, everyday low-carbon concrete without compromising cost, performance or operational reliability.

As part of the ongoing development programme, Xencrete is now exploring further development including:

  • Greater cement reduction
  • Enhanced strength development
  • Enhanced Performance – to achieve rigorous Infrastructure Compliance Standards in VIC & NSW
